Katie
Katie’s former career was as a professional dancer, she found her love from beer during a National tour with the Broadway show “Movin’ Out”. The spark to follow the Cicerone(R) program was lit by an article by the first female Master Cicerone(R) about the best fall beers of the season. From there she started homebrewing while studying for the exam–how better to understand something than to make it yourself? She also joined her local club, the New York City Homebrewers Guild, and finally pass the Certified exam. Her first job with a brewery was in The Bronx Brewery taproom. She was there for two years as their Assistant Taproom Manager, and completed a month-long brewery internship. (Damn those tri clamps!) Then Katie stepped out from behind the bar and moved to the streets, or sales, with Blue Point Brewery. She worked with them for six years ending as the NYC Sales Team Manager. She currently is the NY State sales manager for Lawson’s Finest Liquids. She has since passed the Advanced Cicerone(R) exam and is also a Nationally ranked BJCP judge. In the past she has been the president of the NYC Homebrewer’s Guild, ran a NYC training class for the BJCP exam and was the Competition Coordinator of the NYC Regional round of the National Homebrew Competition.
Vienna and Ninkasi
The two prettiest ladies! Vienna, and Ninkasi are sisters and not at all interested in beer! They were named for beer, because Katie loves beer, but they run the other way when the kegerator is opened. When beer cans are opened near them they get upset. The smell of hops does not excite them in the least! They sometimes like to sniff the poisonous hop plant in the window and stress everyone out, but they have yet to take a bite.
